Cave Tools Meat Claws Product Review: Everyone loves a great BBQ. For me, it is not just about the final meal, but it is every detail that goes into making that final BBQ meal experience fabulous. The kids helping make and apply the dry rub, my husband making the homemade BBQ sauce, and the smell of the delicious meat slow cooking all day. My husband was more than happy to give these Meat Claws their proper welcome. Our pork roast had been slow cooking all day and now it was time to see how these Meat Claws worked to shred the meat.

Within seconds, the tender and juicy pork pulled easily off the bone and the Meat Claws allowed us to shred it faster, easier, and without any heat of the meat touching our hands. It was far better than using any other utensil.

Once the pork was pulled from the bone the Meat Claws also allowed us to serve the meat without getting any other serving spoons dirty. I love a kitchen product that serves more than one function ~ and does them all well. The Cave Tools Company is also known for its great customer service. The Best Pulled Pork Sandwich Recipe
Prep Time: 15 minutes, Marinate Time: 2+ Hours, Slow Cook Time: 5-6 Hours, Total Time: 6-8Hours, Serves: 10 +
Print
Dry Rub
  1. 3 TBS Paprika
  2. 3 TBS Brown Cane Sugar
  3. 1 TBS Garlic Powder
  4. 1 TBS Dry Mustard
  5. 1/4 TBS Red Cayenne Pepper
  6. 2 TBS Himalayan Salt
  7. 2 TBS Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
  8. Roast: 6 Pound Pork Shoulder Roast (bone in)
  9. 1 Cast Iron Dutch Oven with Cast Iron Lid
  10. 1 Baster
Liquid Ingredients for Dutch Oven
  1. 1 Cup Apple Juice
  2. 1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  3. 1.5 TBS Worcestershire
  4. 3/4 TBS liquid smoke (optional)
Instructions
  1. Combine the Dry Rub Ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Coat all sides of the roast with the Dry Rub. Seal with plastic and marinate in fridge for at least 2 hours.
  3. When Ready to Begin Slow Cooking, Preheat Oven to 325 Degrees F.
  4. Make ready your cast iron dutch oven and cast iron lid.
  5. Pour the liquid ingredients into the dutch oven with the roast and cover with the lid.
  6. Place a sturdy oven pan under the dutch oven for easier handling and spill prevention. Place into the oven.
  7. Once per hour during cooking, baste the roast using the liquids in the dutch oven.
  8. Continue to cook the roast about 6 hours, until meat is fork tender and cooked to proper safety temperature using meat thermometer.
  9. When cooked through and meat ready to pull off bone, remove from oven.
  10. Safely handle and shred meat using Meat Claws.
  11. Buns: Slice freshly made sourdough buns in half, spread with 1 TBS real butter, and toast until just crispy.
Presentation
  1. Pile the Pulled Pork on the bottom bun, apply a layer of homemade BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup of cole slaw, and then add the top bun.
Recommended sides

If you love being in the outdoors, exploring the ocean, or trying new water adventures in San Diego, then Everyday California is a place you need to know about.

Their most popular activities are Kayaking, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, and Snorkeling. In San Diego, you might find a lot of places offering similar services, but trust a local and check out Everyday California. They even have regular Groupon Specials for great local prices.

Located in La Jolla Cove, their unique setting offers an experience that is unmatched. From the top of my Stand Up Paddle Board, I saw the sea lions jumping and swimming about, the beautiful schools of fish, the cove, and even a dolphin pod in the distance. Their customer service was out of the ordinary, the ocean adventure delivered more than I expected, and the friendliness of every staff member I met truly made me say WOW!

Here’s a picture just before my first time Stand Up Paddle Boarding ~ it has now become my new hobby! Local tip: For paddle boarding, codes require you to transport your board the short walk from the shop to the water, but if you want to avoid carrying your board that short walk, just bring a friend and a truck or minivan :) Check out how our group rocked the minivan ~ paddle board style!

I will always remember this Stand Up Paddle Board Adventure. The cool water was so refreshing, and the site at the La Jolla Cove breath taking. I jumped into the water with my board. After passing over a few waves the water became calm and it was smooth paddle boarding after that. Within a few minutes I was a Stand Up Paddle Board pro! (well, not really a pro but I stopped falling off my board 😉 It was so relaxing and the perfect way to take in the San Diego ocean life.

Whether you live in California everyday or are just here for vacation, you will want to visit Everyday California, I am really glad that I did!
